National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week 2026
Promoting Awareness Through Education
National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week®, observed March 15–21, 2026, is an annual initiative led by the National Institute on Drug Abuse to help communities learn the science behind substance use and addiction. The goal of the campaign is to replace myths and misinformation with accurate, research-based facts so individuals can make informed decisions about their health.
Substance use can have serious effects on both physical and mental health, impacting brain function, decision-making, and emotional well-being. Research has also shown strong links between substance use disorders and behavioral health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Understanding these connections is an important step toward prevention and effective treatment.
At Vanguard Research Group, advancing behavioral health research helps support the development of new treatment approaches, therapies, and programs aimed at improving outcomes for individuals affected by substance use and related mental health challenges.
During National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week 2026, we encourage continued education, open conversation, and support for research that can help strengthen communities and promote healthier futures.
