Shana Needham

Shana Needham has been a Senior Research Coordinator at Vanguard Research Group (VRG) since 2025. She has been employed at Northwell Health since 2025. Working at VRG gets to combine Shana’s favorite parts of research, patient interaction and rigorous methodological practices. It also has the added bonus of demonstrating real time benefits to patients.

Previously, Shana worked with the Oregon Research Institute as a research assistant on a clinical trial examining the healthy aging benefits of tai chi exercise in adults 65 years or older. Shana has also conducted research about uncertainty in romantic and friend relationships in young adults. Additionally, she has experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses in general and social psychology.

Shana holds a doctorate in Social Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She enjoys reading nonfiction and watching movies at her local theatre.
