Minority Mental Health Awareness Month July 2026

Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 2026: Advancing Awareness, Inclusion, and Research

Each July, Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month, recognizes the importance of improving mental health awareness, access to care, and support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). The observance honors the legacy of author and mental health advocate Bebe Moore Campbell, whose work helped bring greater attention to mental health disparities and the need for culturally responsive care. In 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives officially designated July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Vanguard Research Group (VRG), we recognize the importance of clinical research in advancing behavioral healthcare for diverse populations. Inclusive research helps improve our understanding of how mental health conditions affect different communities and supports the development of treatments and care models that better reflect the needs of the people they serve. Collaboration among researchers, healthcare providers, community organizations, and study participants remains essential to advancing equitable behavioral health research.

Throughout Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 2026, we encourage individuals and organizations to continue promoting education, compassion, and inclusion. By supporting research, expanding awareness, and fostering meaningful dialogue, we can help create healthier communities where everyone has the opportunity to access quality behavioral healthcare.
